After more than two decades in the beauty industry, Shanna Lynch thought she knew everything about helping people look and feel their best. From starting as a Mary Kay consultant at 18 to winning multiple sales awards across categories, regions, and districts at Lancome and MAC Cosmetics, Shanna had built an impressive career in traditional beauty retail.
But when she discovered Glo, everything changed.
The Perfect Transition from Traditional Beauty to Wellness
“I always thought I hated sales when I first started, but then when you accidentally are good at it, you start to like it,” Shanna reflects. “It’s still retail, it’s just a different product that we’re selling – some of my favorite products.”
Shanna’s journey with Glo began in fall 2022 when she joined as a spa consultant. Her extensive beauty background gave her immediate credibility with sales and client consultations, and by February 2023, she had already been promoted to store manager. Her rapid progression didn’t stop there – she quickly advanced to district manager, overseeing multiple locations.
Discovering Her Passion for Accessible Wellness
What drew Shanna from traditional cosmetics into Glo’s innovative wellness space was her deep-rooted passion for skincare and keeping skin youthful. “The products that I am infatuated with are obviously anything to do with skin care because I’m all about keeping the skin looking youthful and radiant as long as we can and slowing down the aging process.”
For Shanna, Glo represented something revolutionary: the perfect marriage of her skincare expertise with accessible luxury wellness. “They’re really loving the spa services, the skin wellness pro pods… It’s a chance for a lot of people who may never get that experience because they can’t go to a med spa – it’s way out of their budget. So we try to be affordable luxury on a budget.”
From Corporate Learning to Franchise Ownership
Shanna’s strategic approach to learning Glo’s systems while working for corporate proved invaluable when she transitioned to ownership. “I learned all the systems and processes working for corporate, so when I became an owner, I pretty much just implemented everything I already learned.”
Her beauty industry background translated seamlessly to Glo’s model. “My time as a beauty consultant, makeup artist, retail manager… learning about the skin, and sales… that has propelled me within Glo because it’s still retail, it’s just a different product.”
Building Arkansas’s Wellness Destination
Now, Shanna is expanding her vision beyond her Rogers location, with plans to open four locations by 2026. Her mission is clear: bringing affordable luxury wellness to her Arkansas community while leveraging the skincare and customer service expertise she’s honed over decades.
Advice for Beauty Professionals Considering Franchise Opportunities
Shanna believes her journey proves that beauty industry skills translate perfectly to wellness entrepreneurship. “It’s possible for anybody who wants to set themselves up well for the future… I’m just a girl from Rogers, Arkansas… anybody can do it if they have the drive, determination, and grit.”
Her success story demonstrates how the right franchise opportunity can transform decades of industry experience into ownership success, especially when that opportunity aligns with your deepest passions.
